In an effort to make the legislative process as transparent as possible, Congressman Sam Farr is posting information on every request he makes for federal funding, including projects and programmatic requests through the House Appropriations Committee. He is also listing funding requests made through authorization bills including the Surface Transportation Act, the Water Resources Development Act and other legislation. Nearly every project originates from agencies and organizations on the Central Coast, and those projects located outside the Central Coast directly benefit local communities through research and other vital actions. In addition to requests for federal funding of local projects, Rep. Farr has listed federal programmatic requests. These requests are not earmarks, but rather requests to support programs that have already been authorized by Congress.
